Offshore services for wind projects
Having in-depth knowledge and years of expertise experience with the onshore construction, and therefore also the systems and component, of offshore wind foundations and substations, ProCon also offers the offshore preparation and completion of snacking and punch lists as well as handling the entire mechanical and electrical completion scope.
In continuation or separate of our offshore completion work, we provide offshore commissioning services of all electrical low voltage and high voltage systems and components. From specialist systems and components like ICCP systems and switchgears to lighting, navigation, earthing and UPS systems.
All include the necessary and required testing and ensuring and signing off on the final documentation package.
ProCon offers interim and post-installation inspection and maintenance as well as service of offshore wind turbine foundations and substations. This includes visual and statutory inspection, troubleshooting, testing, general maintenance, retro-fit and repair of the electrical and mechanical systems and components. Furthermore, we also conduct the O&M of the painting/coating of the primary and secondary steel.
With our electrical know-how and track-record in our toolbox, we provide both onshore and offshore medium and high voltage installation, commissioning, termination, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and retro-fit up to 400kV. This means that we can support clients and partners with e.g. switchgears, transformer, array and export cable, offshore and onshore substations and foundations works.
Together with our trusted partners, ProCon provides turnkey solutions of specialist systems – providing design engineering, procurement and supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrade, retro-fit and supervision. Such systems are often free-issued items and include ICCP systems with Corrosion, turbine marking with Sabik Offshore, and lightning protection and monitoring systems with DEHN for offshore windfarms.
As a part of our solutions, we offer extended warranties of the components and systems that we handle if a periodical check-up agreement of these is made.
Being available and able to respond quickly is part of our DNA concerning flexibility. Consequently, we provide ad-hoc services and a project hotline for customers and partners.
Ensuring quality documentation and handover that meets the defined requirements is paramount for any project. We support all customers and partners with this – either as a stand alone offering or included within our larger scopes.
Supervision and QC are included parts in all of our projects with experienced and qualified supervisors and quality controllers on the designated site. However, these offerings can also be provided as stand alone offerings.
As a part of the Integrated Wind Solution family, ProCon can charter and provide CSOVs and CTVs to any of the above scopes through our sister company IWS Fleet.

Since 2022, our collaborative journey with Equans has been a dynamic and rewarding experience, marked by both challenges and triumphs.
ProCon Wind Energy emerged as the driving force behind the scenes, carefully orchestrating crucial elements of the project. Our expertise came to play in shaping onshore preparations, an important forerunner to offshore substation works. This complex groundwork laid the foundation for the larger offshore endeavour, parallel to assembling the pieces of a complex puzzle.
However, our role consisted of more than planning; it included active troubleshooting and fine-tuning. With a profound eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, we ensured the seamless operation of the offshore substation. Our technical expertise acted as the essential, upholding the efficiency and reliability of the entire system.
At the heart of our operation lies a dedicated offshore team. In total 2×15 technicians in an offshore rotation. ProCon has invested in our workforce, in giving them the GWO courses, which serves as a prerequisite for offshore work – this fact, gives us the flexibility to uphold the performance standards quickly when needed by the client.
Our accomplishments in France resonated across borders in the client company, leading to a subsequent collaboration with Equans in Germany. This latest venture result in the detailed completion and commissioning of an offshore substation, a testament to our successful track record and professionalism.

The partnership between our team, Smulders, and CORROSION, initiated in 2020, has been a journey of technical mastery and forward-thinking. Focused on the onshore pre-assembly, outfitting, installation, and commissioning of foundations, alongside offshore commissioning and the innovative installation of ICCP systems, this project has not only underscored our expertise in onshore pre-assembly and outfitting of foundations but also highlighted our proficiency in ensuring their operational success offshore.
The project’s scope extended to the detailed onshore installation and commissioning, followed by the critical offshore commissioning and the integration of ICCP systems to safeguard against corrosion. This comprehensive approach ensured each foundation’s integrity and operational efficacy, crucial for their long-term performance in challenging marine conditions.
Our success lies in our collaborative spirit, combining Smulders’ structural engineering excellence with CORROSION’s advanced protection technologies. This synergy has paved the way for balanced, efficient, and future-proof foundations that support the energy sector’s evolving needs.
