Our engineering department provides electrical design and engineering in relation to wind turbine foundations, towers, and nacelles as well as their components and substations.

Electrical design and engineering
ProCon offers review of client requirements, setting up design criteria, and developing design briefs for developers and design houses. We are specialist in the electrical scope, so our conceptual design offering also includes investigating of interface requirements with other disciplines (e.g. structural designer), reviewing applicable authority codes and standards as well as doing equipment size and power load calculations (max/worst case). All ending up in conceptual layouts and space requirements.
Thus, our solution will evaluate and validate the feasibility of the project.
Standard deliverables include but is not limited to: Design briefs with methodology for Low voltage AC and DC system; Earthing including surge protection; Lighting in terms of both normal and emergency; and Network and communication methodology. It also includes Block diagrams and Simple layouts and sketch drawings, Load list, and Hazard identification study (HAZID).
Our FEED solution involves preliminary design descriptions and documentation based on the outcome of any conceptual design as well as decisions regarding equipment specification and locations. “Standard” setup for equipment and installation, including preliminary set of datasheets is also a part of this offering, and is delivered along with design cases from which a govern design case is chosen.
This solution will provide documents and specifications which developers and/or fabricators can use in their bidding and tendering process.
Standard deliverables include but is not limited to: Design reports and load list as described in our Conceptual design solution as well as Single line diagrams, ”Standard” design drawings / Hookups, List of equipment, Equipment specifications, Datasheets, List of cables (power, earthing and communication), cable routing, overall layouts, and Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP).
ProCon provides detailed design engineering where we refine the any Front End Engineering Design and develop all documentation needed for procurement and installation. This includes the electrical calculations, such as short circuit, voltage drop, step voltage and protective device coordination, which are used to validate the design decisions. We also provide general arrangement drawings and layouts (2D and 3D) along with lists, datasheets, and specifications of e.g. equipment, cables, load, and equipment.
Apart from these, the standard deliverables include but is not limited to: Design reports with descriptions of Low voltage AC and DC system, Earthing system (including surge protection), Lighting system (normal and emergency), Illumination study (normal and emergency), Network and communication, Labeling and tagging, Installation notes, and Method statement for tests.
Also included is single diagram, circuit diagrams, Hazard and operability study (HAZOP) as well as cable routing design with main and secondary support system in 2D and 3D, Cable system segregation, Section views, Modular cable transits and Load calculations.
We offer to handle all the documentation, and project management of wind projects in order to provide the market and customers with quality electrical solutions that meets industry requirements.
We offer tests of electrical systems, components as well as FAT and SAT. In addition, we can offer MV & HV Grid Code requirement studies and LV Power Electronics analysis, calculations, and simulations.
Quality documentation is an integrated part of our design engineering solutions. As a potential add-on or included within the scope of work, depending on the enquiry, ProCon can also support with the handover of the different design stages and/or construction and installation phases. We ensure a smooth and clear handover that meets the defined requirements and take all the different interfaces into account.
Our Engineers are specialist and experts within their field – drawing on years of practical experience. We offer their know-how and expertise as stand-alone or an integrated solution in relation to Supervision and QA/QC of projects – whether it be regarding designs, components, systems, suppliers, project execution, documentation, processes or similar.

The standout achievement was the 66KV HV junction box, developed in close collaboration with Nexans to comply with COP’s exacting specifications.
